Welcome to our website
The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-military organization of men, women, and families who have a common love of recreational boating. There are no barriers to membership on the grounds of race, religion, or ethnic background. USPS is comprised of some 45,000 members in almost 450 local squadrons in virtually every state, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and more distant areas. USPS is the world's largest private boating organization. For sail and power boating, we are America's Boating Club®.
The Dayton Sail and Power Squadron regularly conducts Public Safe Boating Classes. These courses meet State of Ohio requirements for the NASBLA approved Ohio Boating Education Course. Instruction is free except for nominal charges for course materials. See our Class Schedules. However, as the triangle below illustrates, we are a group of friends who have fun while boating, supporting our local community, furthering our boating knowledge and skills. While we are located in Dayton, OH, many members boat on Lake Erie, the Ohio River, and more local lakes and rivers. We are one of eight squadrons which make-up District 24 of the USPS. A highlight of the year is our annual trailer sailor cruise which include power and sail boats. Boating is fun... we'll show you how!
We are a membership organization with many benefits including extensive educational courses available plus interesting discount offers of interest to boaters. For membership information,
